For nearly 150 years, Sigma Kappa has provided generations of women with a lifelong community of support, service and opportunity. To preserve this legacy, the sorority has engaged HistoryIT to ensure that members and alumnae across the globe can access a digital museum that houses the historical materials that tell their stories.
Recognizing that 80% of fraternal history lives at the chapter level, Sigma Kappa is encouraging all chapters to explore digitally preserving their history. Your composites, photographs and memorabilia make up the important story of our sisterhood. Preserving and sharing those memories before they are lost to time, accident or the natural process of aging is of the upmost importance.
HistoryIT is here to help. We offer comprehensive digital archive services that are deeply rooted in the digital preservation strategies we build with each of our clients. From imaging and tagging to timelines and storytelling, we ensure that your stories are accessible now and in the future.
In addition to best-in-class archival capabilities, HistoryIT also brings a deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities within the Greek community. To meet those needs, we’ve developed Greek preservation packages, including our Composites Digital Museum Package.
As an example, Alpha Phi is expanding their Digital Museum in celebration of their 150th anniversary. They recently launched their University of Colorado Digital Chapter Museum and have nine additional sites under development. Once complete, all will connect seamlessly for a complete preservation of their history.
